Joyce Jacobs (sometimes credited as Joyce Williams; born 15 April 1922) is an English born Australia character actress adept at playing gossips and interfering busybodies.

Joyce Jacobs was born in Surrey, England. During the 1970s she played the recurring bit part character of Mrs. Carson in Number 96. Joyce Jacobs later became best known for her long-running role as Esme Watson in the Seven Network drama series A Country Practice. Appearing in the pilot episode in 1981 and emerging as a regular in episode 99 in 1982, with 12 years in the series she was one of the longest serving regular actors remaining until it ended in 1993. In 1994 Network Ten continued the series under the same title but with a new setting and mostly new cast, and Jacobs reprised her role of Esme; however, the new version of the show was not a success, and it was cancelled after 29 episodes.

A guest appearances in All Saints in 2000 reunited her with former A Country Practice co-star Georgie Parker. Joyce appeared in an A Country Practice reunion special in 2006. She is now retired and resides in a nursing care facility.[1]
